Advisement Center
NOTE TO FIRST-TIME FRESHMEN WHAT’S MY NEXT STEP?
Have you
these off of your Admissions Checklist?

- ACT/SAT Scores or COMPASS
- Online Orientation
- Signed Hepatitis B Form
If so, your next step is ADVISEMENT. ADVISEMENT SESSIONS are scheduled during June and July at all Motlow locations. REMEMBER: You must meet with an advisor prior to registering for the Fall, 2010 term. Once all admission requirements have been met, keep an eye on your student e-mail for notification and registration information for these sessions.
The Advising Center located on the Moore County campus is a well-equipped, adequately staffed facility where faculty, students, and community members can get information and materials about college admission, programs of study, courses, course equivalencies, and program transferability, and institutional policies and procedures. Students can also receive academic advice and assistance with course scheduling and program completion. The Center has a full-time director who coordinates advising services throughout the year including new student advisement sessions and early registration periods. The Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Students are encouraged to call for appointments. The Director of Advising along with Assistant Directors for Student Services coordinates advising services at other teaching locations in McMinnville, Fayetteville and Smyrna.
Academic Advisors are responsible for assisting students in interpreting, planning, and completing the requirements for a particular program of study. Advisors maintain regularly scheduled office hours which are prominently posted on their office doors and with their division deans or teaching site directors. Students should consult with their advisors:
- at the beginning of the program of study each semester
- during early registration periods to select courses for the upcoming term
- to get information about transferability of courses and programs to other institutions
- to acquire signatures on institutional forms and documents
- to submit Intent to Graduate forms
