Merit Pages makes it easy to share accomplishments with family and friends. Students can invite others to view their accomplishments on their own Merit page, or can use their Merit page to launch news of accomplishments out on other social media platforms. Motlow is committed to your success. You begin your college experience with a comprehensive orientation and an opportunity to engage in workshops and activities that help you adjust to college life. Throughout your time at Motlow you will be inspired, motivated, and guided toward graduation. Your success is our mission.
The Student Government Association (SGA) is an elected group of students representing the needs of Motlow's student body, led by a president elected by the entire student body.
SGA represents the student body at events on Motlow's campuses, including the college's Leadership Council. SGA is involved in planning and executing events on every campus, from Weeks of Welcome to finals week celebrations. All Motlow students are encouraged to attend SGA meetings and voice their concerns or ideas.
Graduation day is the culmination of your hard work. A degree from Motlow empowers you to advance to your next level.
You have a vast array of support services while you are a student at Motlow. All are designed to work together to assist you towards your goal. If that goal is graduation, then the time to start planning is when you enroll at Motlow. There are multiple steps required in addition to completing your coursework.
Motlow State Community College is proud to announce that Jenna Caviezel is the new Director of the College's Honors Program. Caviezel began serving at Motlow in 2012. In that time, she has taught English and Honors English Courses. She played a vital role in the launch of the Motlow Writing Center and now serves as Director of Tutoring in addition to her new role as Director of the Honors Program.
Oakland High School's Early College partnership with Motlow State Community College allows students to graduate with an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Mechatronics while obtaining their high school diploma. Through this opportunity, Oakland dual-enrollment students can immediately transfer to the workforce upon completion of high school. Oakland will see six of its seniors graduate from the program this year with college degrees.
At the sixth annual Statewide Outstanding Achievement Awards (SOAR) event hosted by the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), Motlow State student Jaxen Waggoner received the Community College Student of the Year Award. TBR is the largest system of higher education institutions in the state and presides over all 13 community colleges and 24 colleges of applied technology.
Motlow State Community College's Early College Program at LaVergne High School in Rutherford County allows high school students to obtain their associate degrees from Motlow as part of their high school curriculum. Two graduates from this year's cohort of Early College Graduates are 2024 recipients of the prestigious Gates Foundation Scholarship.
